Overview
An engineered infiltration system was designed and constructed to eliminate front yard flooding and manage stormwater effectively.
The Problem
The front yard experienced significant water pooling, with runoff collecting in low areas and saturating the soil. Common issues included standing water after storms, water movement toward the home, and poor natural infiltration, highlighting the need for effective stormwater management.
Our Solution
To address these issues, a subsurface infiltration system (infiltration pit) was installed 5m from the home to capture runoff from the downspouts and disperse stormwater efficiently. This solution included an infiltration pit, a clear stone reservoir, perforated piping, geotextile fabric, and minor regrading to enhance drainage.
Execution
Excavation was completed to construct the infiltration system at the correct depth. The pit was filled with clear stone to create storage voids and wrapped in geotextile fabric, ensuring it remains effective and prevents clogging.
The Result
The project successfully eliminated standing water, controlled stormwater infiltration, improved front yard usability, and provided a low-maintenance drainage solution.

We design and build effective drainage solutions, including advanced infiltration systems, that enhance stormwater management.
